About the Event

The McConnell Arts Chamber Orchestra kicks off its 2020-2021 season, Impressions: Connecting Through Chamber Music, with an outdoor concert at 3:00 pm featuring works by Johannes Brahms and three women composers; Louise Farrenc, Florence B. Price, and Julia Perry whose contributions to classical music broke color and gender barriers in the 20th century. This concert is inspired by the King Arts Complex’s HeART of Protest effort, to lift the voices of Black artists and to advocate for social justice and equity in our community.
